There’s a quick and sure way for people to reject your training or your proposition to bring training into an organization. Hnow do they undermine your inspiring offering? They say, “That’s too much jargon.” “We don’t need that jargon here.” Actually, as you will see, this is a fairly respectable way at cursing you! Do you know what they are calling you? If not, stay tuned.

First, however, I want to say this about when to use ‘jargon.’ Whenever you start out with anyone —always start where they are. Pace how they are thinking and speaking. Use their words. Meet them at their mailbox. But do not leave them there. Pace, pace, pace, and then lead them to learning how to use the language of precision. That’s what ‘jargon’ is—the technical and professional vocabulary of an industry.
