KEEPING IT PURE
There’s an art in keep NLP and Neuro-Semantics pure.
There’s an art in keep NLP and Neuro-Semantics pure. This is a rampant problem in the field of NLP—there people contaminate the NLP Communication model with all kinds of things that have nothing in the world to do with NLP. They add other models and learnings and disciplines to NLP without uttering a word that it is from another domain and giving credit to the sources that they take it from. They add all sorts of things: Myers-Briggs personality typology Spiral Dynamics Graves List of values Superficial ideas from quantum physics or quantum mechanics New Age “beliefs” and “spirituality” – distant viewing DIS Profiling Buddhist teachings and practices Ken Wilbur’s Integral models and practices
Actually, the list goes on and on. From time to time I see something else that people are now adding to “NLP Practitioner” training that has nothing to do with NLP. Typically these trainers are so poorly trained in NLP, and have such poverty of understanding of where NLP came from, its history, and what it is truly about, that they create more confusion rather than less.
