I recently took on my first multinational corporate client to do a leadership development training and to be honest I was more than a little intimidated before the first day of training. Having only worked with smaller businesses in the past and with the majority of my training experience being public trainings, I thought they would be way more advanced than me. I thought they may find my presentation ‘below their level’. An example of the frames that were activating in the back of my mind. I could not have been more wrong.

“These are people who have been leaders for a long time and in many different capacities. Who am I to teach these people about leadership?”

On the first day of training we began working through some of the material from the Neuro- Semantics ‘Unleashing Leadership’ program. We covered the distinctions between managerial leadership and executive leadership, ‘theory X’ leadership versus self-actualizing leadership, self-leadership as a foundation for leading others, coaching as a leadership style, etc. They were blown away.
