As this is the last trainer's reflection for 2020, we can now reflect on some very hard lessons learned during the year and start to look ahead to 2021. I count myself incredibly lucky here in New Zealand as the country has no community cases or transmission of COVID-19, and life is essentially normal and has been for months. But I am painfully aware that this is not the case for the rest of the world.

However, vaccines have now been developed and are starting to be used to begin to curb the pandemic. So now is a time for hope, even though it may not feel like it for some. But it will be long time, probably years if we're honest, before anything resembling a pre-COVID normal is resumed.

In addition to COVID-19, it has been an unusual year politically and socially, especially in the US and the UK. And both these countries political and social actions have affected the whole world in general to varying degrees.
