RE-THINKING FEEDBACK
They say that feedback is the “breakfast of champions.”
They say that feedback is the “breakfast of champions.” If so, then it is their energy for the day which enables them to play at their very best. After all, whenever we perform we anticipate that we will get some result. Usually, we anticipate a good result. But whatever happens, whether we receive the results we wanted or not, we can ask: What do you think will happen? What did happen? How close were the results to your anticipations? What are you learning about your performance? The context in which you acted? Your state? Etc.
Whatever happened—that is feedback about your performance. And if you let it be that, and only that, then feedback can become your friend. It can become your coach and your best manager. Then feedback can take you to the all-stars.
