SELF-ACTUALISATION SERIES – UNLEASHING LEADERSHIP DAY 2
In my last post about Unleashing Leadership, I mentioned how Day 1 was all about denominalising leadership and exploring what leadership is.
In my last post about Unleashing Leadership, I mentioned how Day 1 was all about denominalising leadership and exploring what leadership is. On Day 2 we explore how leadership works and how it is actually done through the individual. This enables participants to discover and develop their own leadership identity, personal competencies, states and style. Day 2 really brings leadership down to a personal level so that course participants can really connect and apply leadership in their own context.
Using the Matrix Model, on Day 2 participants explore their leadership states, powers, others, self and time, matrices.
• States relates to how one manages ones emotions and relates strongly to Daniel Goleman’s work in this area (by the way, I have just posted the last of a six article series in Emotional Competence on my website). Here we run an exercise that allows participants to explore, texture and anchor the best states for effective leadership for them.
• Power explores the different kinds of power needed to be an effective leader. There are many kinds and dimensions of power – some useful, some not – and again a personalised exploration is facilitated.
