I recently stepped into a leadership function at my day job, and I was pleasently surprised at how similar it was to running trainings. There are many differences between the different kinds of leadership required to lead a team and to train a group, but I will focus on some of the similarities I have found so far.
Just to give you a context, this is not an easy group I lead. My former boss went on extended sick leave due to burnout and she felt bullied by some of the strong personalities in the group and chose to change her workplace because of it. They are very competent and know their value and are therefore also demanding and don t "take any crap from bosses". So this is a report on how I experiment with Neuro-Semantics and Trainer skills to work with "a difficult group."
