Wouldn’t it be nice to be liked by everyone and have all those you train and coach think of you as a good, genuine and wonderful person. That would be nice, wouldn’t it?

We’re taught at NSTT to build rapport and develop engagement. To connect and relate to those we train. We know the importance of demonstrating empathy with our audience and to convey how you accept and appreciate those in your training and how they are unique. You’re able to celebrate their diversity as you speak with authenticity in your presentation. While you may be doing everything right in your presentation, what I want you to know about is an unspoken reality you will experience sooner or later. Here it is: Not everyone will like you, no matter how hard you try to connect with them.

And although you are doing everything right and appropriately, you’re having the opposite effect on a group or individual in your training. They don’t like you. They actually dislike you and may even grow to despise you and demonstrate this by being very disruptive directly to you or behind your back, they under mine you and even discredit you to others.
