INTRODUCING META-QUESTIONS AT THE APG
At the end of day 1 we introduce the Meta-Questions as one of our primary tools to explore a persons Meaning Matrix.
At the end of day 1 we introduce the Meta-Questions as one of our primary tools to explore a persons Meaning Matrix. In my experience this used to be very confusing for the participants, especially as I demonstrated the pattern using Meta-Questions without reading from the manual, just calibrating and listening to what was said and then exploring the matrix of frames from that. The feedback we got was that the patterns where great, but that the Meta-Questions are “complex” and “hard to learn” and that they misunderstood the purpose of them or thought it was the Meta-Model. I found the same phenomena with Meta-Coaches – the Meta-Questions are “hard.”
So in order to pre-frame that out of the training I tried a new approach. Instead of me demonstrating them, I let them do the Pleasure-pattern together as a group and explore how the Meta-Questions work together. In order for this to work some very clear frames are needed.
